After the grand success of Kalpana Chawla National Scholar exam in 2017, we are back with KCNS-2018. Last year, the KCNS exam received enormous response across India. 2,134 students qualified for round 2 who were then grilled to get the outstanding 84 students across India.

Top 21 students won the 1st prize of a 3 day camp at NASA. Other 63 winners have won amazing cash prizes.

It is mandatory to completely and correctly fill out the profile information along with the profile photo and the school identity card of the current academic year /mark sheet of the previous academic year.


Upon profile registration, you will receive an email with the Educharya user id and password on your registered Email ID & Mobile Number.

About KCNS Preparation

The KCNS exam course is in-line with your school and academic curriculums, i.e., ICSE, CBSE and State boards set of courses.

You will be required to study your academic curriculum, gather vast knowledge plus stand a chance to go to NASA camp or win cash prizes.

To aid you further, we will conduct online practice papers for the exam preparation, dedicated 9 Sundays from 9th September to 2nd December 2018, to give you a fair chance to win.

KCNS selection process

The KCNS exam will be conducted in two stages;

 The first stage will be the online scholarship exam. The class wise merit list will name the qualifiers.


 In the second stage, the qualifiers will have to go through the rapid fire round through Skype / Video calling. (Applicable only to the qualifiers)


 In each prize category of 21 winners, 9 students will be from classes V-VII, 10 students will be from classes VIII-X and one reserve category winner each from the wards of farmer & military personnel.


Terms and Conditions for the KCNS Exam

  “Participants” shall be enrolled for the current academic session, in the class group of V-X of the ICSE, CBSE and State board schools in India. All participants must seek their parents' / guardians' approval before participating in the contest. It will be the responsibility of parents/guardians to monitor their children's participation in this exam.


  The KCNS exam can be attempted by students who are citizens of India and is open to students pan India from affiliated ICSE, CBSE, and State board schools.


 Educharya team reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and participants (including a participant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any participant for any reason including, but not limited, to unfair practices, or use of malicious/illegitimate codes or not – adherence to these terms and conditions.


 All valid and complete registrations received will be selected for the KCNS exam.


 The company shall not be responsible and/or liable in any manner whatsoever in case the registered candidate is unable to participate in the contest due to connectivity failure.


 The registered candidate, shall not have and agrees to waive any right to question the selection process, non-selection of themselves and any other participant.


 The registration does not guarantee the selection of the registrant in the contest and such selection will be as per the sole discretion of Educharya team.


 The registrant and his parent(s) / guardian(s) shall not have and agrees to waive the right to question the selection process, non-selection of the registrant and/or the selection of any other registrant.


 Any entry made by the registrants are not transferable to any other registrant.


 In the event that a registration is contested and it is not possible to determine with certainty the person who registered from that particular User id, the entry would be disqualified.


 Timelines are subject to change based on on-ground conditions, the degree of participation, technical issues, force majeure reasons, etc. Educharya is not responsible if the participant is unable to successfully complete the exam due to :

  • Poor internet connectivity
  • Power outage
  • For any Other unforeseen reasons

 Participation is optional and voluntary.


 Educharya reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and participants (including a participant's identity, age, and place of residence) and to disqualify any participant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process.


 Winners agree that Educharya team has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this exam and that all decisions of Educharya team are final and binding is not contestable.


 The prizes are personal to the winners and are not transferable and cannot be sold under any circumstances. Prizes cannot be exchanged /redeemed for cash or combined. No cash or discount claim can be made in lieu of the prizes.


 NASA Camp can't be redeemed for cash at any circumstance. No cash or discount can be made in lieu of the first prize.


 The 1st prize winners, NASA camp qualifiers, will be required to submit a medical health fitness certificate as certified by a practicing physician.


 For 2nd, 3rd and consolation prizes, cash prizes will be given through e-wallet "i-paisa".


 At the Educharya team’s request, winners must participate in all promotional activity (such as publicity, photography & videography) surrounding the winning of the prize, free of charge.


 The Educharya team reserves the right to cancel, modify, extend, postpone or withdraw the KCNS exam at its sole and absolute discretion.


 Educharya team reserves the right to withdraw/add/alter any of the terms and/or conditions at any time.

Team 1: Camp KSC International for classes V, VI & VII.

In this international camp, students engage in unique adventures and educational activities that cannot be found anywhere else. Campers team up as they are presented with NASA engineering challenges based on science, technology, engineering, and math components. Additionally, they interact with each other through space shuttle simulators, participate in everyday challenges faced by astronauts, and experience a guided tour of KSC visitor complex. This program is an inspiring three days of educational fun and enriching space activities.

Team 2: Camp KSC International Advance for class VIII & X

Program Summary

In this inspiring 3-day experience, students connect with NASA’s continuing mission of studying and understanding Mars. Students will gain knowledge through a Mars base design challenge focusing on STEM and employ robotics engineering to assist in sustaining life on Mars. Also, participants engage in a discussion about NASA’s current efforts toward establishing a permanent Mars base with a subject matter expert.


An inspector-led tour of KSC and the Apollo/Saturn V center, and viewing of NASA’s restricted access launch headquarters.

Questions related to KCNS Exam Syllabus and Schedule:

Students of class V, VI, VII, VIII, IX & X of CBSE, ICSE and State board schools are eligible for the KCNS exam.

Exact time for the final exam will be available on the website prior to exam.

The KCNS Exam will be conducted online on www.educharya.com. The student will have to log in at the pre announced exam date & time and take the exam, from home. The Exam duration will be 1 hour.

The exam is based on the school syllabus for the respective class. A student of Class V will be attempting questions from his/her Class V syllabus. Same will be the case for other classes and boards.

Mathematics, Science and General Knowledge.

For preparation, there will be total 9 sets on 9 Sundays between 9th September to 9th December 2018.


Sets 1,2,3 are of 50 questions each , Sets 4, 5, 6 are of 75 questions each, and Sets 7, 8, 9 are of 90 questions each.


Final KCNS exam paper will be of 100 Questions.

In each paper set, 50% questions are of Science (including computer science), 30% questions are of Mathematics and 20% questions are of General Knowledge.

Duration for each set of paper will be 1 hour.

No, the exam is absolutely FREE for all eligible candidates who have taken educharya.com subscription for current academic year.

A total of 84 students will be awarded with the scholarship. In each prize category of 21 winners, 9 students will be from classes V-VII, 10 students will be from classes VIII-X and 2 winners will be from the quota reserved for the wards of farmer & military personnel.

The candidates will have to take the online exam. The shortlisted candidates will then have to go through a rapid fire round. Based on the combined results of these 2 tests, ranks will be decided.

KCNS is designed as an online examination for fulfilling the purpose of reaching students all over the country. The advantage of an online exam is that, students from across India can attempt it from the comfort of their homes via, a computer, tablet or any other device with internet access and compatible with our website.

No, it's not mandatory to appear for the preparatory exams however we highly recommend the students to take up these exams. The students will get comfortable with the exam environment and know the type and level of questions that are being asked. They can then decide on the kind of study they need to refer.

No, the student has the flexibility to appear for the exam anytime, anywhere. We will make the exam sets available on the said dates. A student joining at a later date will also have all the earlier exam sets available for practice. The final KCNS exam will have to be taken on the mentioned date and time interval only. The details will be available well in advance on our website.

All our exams are online on www.educharya.com including the final exam KCNS 2018.

The exam comprises of Science (50%), Maths (30%) and GK (20%). The syllabus is for his grade from State, CBSE and ICSE boards’ syllabus. GK will be based on the student’s grade and cannot be very much specific.

The package comprises of 9 preparatory exams and the KCNS exam. The total package is available for Rs. 945/- only per student.

A teacher must register with us from each school. We will provide a teacher code which is unique for each school. The students can then put this teacher code in the Counselor Code field during registration. This will help us identify the students of each school.

Yes, the students will get participation certificates. The school will also get participation certificate. The only condition is that the school should have registered a teacher with us to coordinate. The certificates will be sent to school directly and not the student's address. Please ask the students to use your teacher code in the counselor code field during registration.

1. If you remember your user_id then open www.educharya.com and click Forgot Password. Fill in the details and submit and you will get SMS with user_id/password.

2. Check the welcome email from educharya. It has your login_id/password.

3. If SMS and email are not available, call educharya support team and they will help you get the details.
